Education Abroad is an academic experience which can set you apart from your peers and broaden your perceptions. You can add your experience to your resume which may be attractive to potential employers.

There are three main programs under CGE: Study Abroad, Study Away, and International Internships. You can explore these options through our Program Discovery or by looking through our Major Guides. The Global Military Programs office handles cadet-exclusive opportunities.

• It is never too early to start planning. Your first step is to attend an Abroad 101 session to learn the basics of education abroad.
• Many scholarship applications are due at least 4 months before the start of each semester. However, certain applications are due earlier. The sooner you start researching scholarship opportunities, the better!

All international programs require a passport. Visit the  for more information on applying for or renewing your passport.

Students work with both their academic advisor and education abroad advisor to ensure that their program fits their plan of study. Your advisor works with you to ensure you receive academic credit.

Currently, the East Asian Studies, International Affairs, and Strategic and Securities Studies majors require education abroad credit.

Yes. Common types of aid used for our programs are Hope, Zell, and the Pell Grant. Contact your financial aid advisor for more specific requirements.

No. There are many scholarships available for non-language majors and programs. See our scholarships page for more details.

Prices vary depending on program types, duration, location, and services. Summer programs are estimated to be around $6,000 to $10,000, and semester programs are estimated to be around $14,000 to $25,000.

• Â鶹APPtakes the health and safety of our students seriously and helps prepare them for their time abroad through advising and orientation sessions. The University of North Georgia utilizes the S and CDC , along with security information from partners and risk management firms when determining risk abroad. Travel to countries with a Level 3 or 4 travel advisory must be approved by UNG.
